Jukebox Monkey - a
stoner / grunge /alt. rock juggernaut formed in 2010 Kent, UK - have been ripping their way through the UK’s underground heavy music scene, building a reputation for pounding sonic assault live shows and infectious party attitude.
Defined by their monolithic foot-stomping sound that has evolved to combine the expansive low-end power of desert rock, with the heavy groove of southern sludgy metal and the raw energy of 90's alt rock.
Their 2015 EP ‘Vs Time’ is five fat slabs of heavy that will take you on a bass-bruising progressive journey full of gargantuan riffs, gritty vocals and heavy duty percussion. Released on Bandcamp, iTunes and Spotify, ‘Vs Time’ was strongly supported by online metal press and radio, including TBFM and Heavy Planet’s Band of the Day. The promo video for single ‘Dead Wait’ also received spins from Scuzz TV.
With three EPs under their belts, Jukebox Monkey headed back into the studio in 2016 to record their debut album with Ian Sadler (OHHMS), which Outlaws Of The Sun simply described as 'Fan-fucking-tastic.
Their long awaited second album 'Smiles Becoming Teeth' was released in July 2023 to rave reviews.
“Heavy low-end groovy stoner metal in the vein of Kyuss and Five Horse Johnson” - Simon Hall, Bloodstock Festival
