Jewels is an Indonesian singer-songwriter, her main instruments of choice is the acoustic guitar and ukulele. Although Jewels has sung and performed from a young age, she did not start writing her own material until she moved to New Zealand in 2012. Jewels’ released her first self titled EP in 2017 which was well received as seen at the sold out release party, and tracks being featured on numerous NZ radio stations.
She is most inspired by heroines such as Aretha Franklin, Amy Winehouse and Nina Simone, you may hear their soulful influences in Jewels’ music. Jewels is one half of ‘Shared Soul’ a colaborative duo which combines Jewels’ vocals with funky electronic beats, produced by her partner in rhyme - Flex Webster.
This year Jewels is taking it back to her roots by writing folky tunes as she once did when she first started writing, new track to be released March 2020.
