Art is the immune system of the mind.
Julia is a walking museum of archetypes. Her voice feels like conversations you didn’t know you needed to have. Haunted vocals, atmospheric guitar arrangements, and honest lyrics take the listener on a cruise of emotional nudity. What sets Julia apart is her restless mind — deeply bored by patriarchy, her lyrics and poetry lean into radical vulnerability and unorthodoxy. Bridging personal experience with collective realities, her music is a pond of good hope for those navigating a world in need of tenderness and authenticity.
Consciously choosing raw recordings and vintage sounds, the Amsterdam-based artist and producer blends folkloric melodies with multilayered vocals and organic arrangements. After over a decade on the road touring with international artists, working as a women’s rights advocate and researcher by day, and producing her own music by night, she is releasing her debut album, Dark Side of the Womb, in 2025. A true concept record, it explores the hidden layers of gender oppression, mental health, and animism. Independent and unpolished, half of the tracks were recorded in a single take, past midnight.
