While her 3 singles were a reflection of a more recently evolved, happier state of mind, the EP is going back in time and makes room for the darker side that exists within her. OVERDRIVE tells the whole story of the last 6 tumultuous years in which she went from meaningless highs to mind numbing lows.


For as long as she can remember, Julia has been captivated by the way musicians express themselves through music. It might not come as a surprise that her roots lay with a vocal powerhouse like Anastacia and an emotional warrior like Joss Stone; two women who express vocally and attach emotionally. With new found inspirations like H.E.R., Leon, Snoh Alegra & Daniel Caesar, she has found the freedom to really experiment with story telling in her own way. Her lyrics are mainly based on personal perceptions on everything she goes through but chances are you’ll feel like she’s talking about you every now and then. She wants to give listeners the chance to relate to their own life, just like her heroes did for her.
