Julia Sabaté

"Listen to me." These are the opening words of Julia Sabaté on her debut EP titled CALLADA . In her first EP, she writes about all those moments in her life when she wanted to say those three words but could do nothing more than remain silent. CALLADA is a collection of letters, poems, and monologues through which Julia Sabaté finally expresses herself, supported by dynamic melodies and bombastic beats. Her former silence has never been so loud.

Julia Sabaté has already made huge steps in her musical journey: she kicked off her festival season with a show at Paaspop, made her dream come true by performing at Mad Cool Festival (Madrid) and returned to Belgium after supporting Froukje for a performance at Pukkelpop. In the meantime, her music has not only gained attention on stage but also online, with her singles being added to Spotify playlists like Fresh Finds España, EQUAL España, and New Music Friday NL.

Growing up with two cultures has its advantages, but it can also lead to inner conflicts. Who are you, how do you identify yourself, and what values align with you? Ultimately, that balance came naturally when Julia Sabaté began to express her thoughts in Spanish. Strengthened by the two musicians Ruben Sieben and Koen Hermans, with whom she writes and produces her songs, she found her home: the stage, wherever in the world it may be.
