Julie is an eclectic singer/songwriter from Ontario, Canada. Her lyrics and timeless melodies are strewn together like a tapestry, weaving thru genre and style with ease and just a lil bit of sass. In this past year Julie won 2 first place awards in the ASGI contest for Singer/Songwriter, and Inspirational songs. She says "The fun of creating songs, recording, and producing fills my life with real tangible lemon zesty joy."
Julie is drawn to the works of other storytelling songwriters with great melody and harmonies, with some real roots, in funk and jazz. Influences in songwriting would have to be Joni Mitchell, Jonatha Brooke, and Patty Griffin, but performance can range from jazz, rock n roll, folk and americana music to piano and voice. The uke is also a fun and joyful instrument weaving it’s way into the works.
Julie has released 3 studio albums + a few demos. Songs full of life experiences and writings from the heart and soul. She is currently working on several projects, and co-writes with some releases planned for 2025.
Julie hosted a SONGC!RCLE writers workshop for over 5 years at her business pre covid.
She spoke at a TEDx about how it began... “SONGC!RCLE has made me look inward, to figure out where the songs come from, and to let the exercise of each song teach me something about myself, it’s a creative process, but it’s also very therapeutic. I'd love the opportunity to run something in the future, to help others on this musical journey"
