Based in Ottawa, Acadian singer-songwriter Julie Stella (she/her) describes her music as moody, sad girl vibes. Some might describe her songs as nostalgic, while others might say they’re heartbreaking. Julie writes songs to dig through the complex layers of despair, grief and healing.
Growing up in a small town in New Brunswick, Julie was drawn to music of all genres. Her style was influenced by the strong female voices of her generation, including Alanis Morissette, Fiona Apple, Chantal Kreviazuk and The Cranberries.
In November 2023, Julie released her song Like a Ghost, along with her first music video. Her latest release, Floating By, is now available on all music platforms. Julie’s first French song will be released later in September 2025.
