What is it that sets Julie True’s unique music apart, exactly? Perhaps it is the fact that her albums have helped popularize a new stream of worship music known as “soaking”, a term that both delights familiar listeners and bewilders new ones. Or maybe, it’s the distinct and tangible presence of God that listeners experience in the form of supernatural peace, comfort, and love. Or it could be her unique method of spontaneous “in the moment” songwriting that results in well-loved worship songs again and again. Whatever the case, she is certainly one of a precious few worship artists who can naturally facilitate an atmosphere of rest that so many desperately yearn for.
Before Julie’s name as an artist was known by anyone outside her home church, she felt God leading her to simply take what little she had in her hands and pour it out in whatever way possible. At the time, that looked like spending hours upon hours alone, playing piano and singing to God in a barn. This was foundational to her current journey into music ministry and the success that her albums and live TV appearances have had thus far.
Julie’s primary focus is “to infiltrate the earth with sounds of healing,” a phrase she heard the Lord speak to her in the midst of a normal day.
