Julien's Daughter

Julien's Daughter is an indie rock band from Winnipeg, Canada. In 2021, the band—then a basement-dwelling group of Canadian teenagers—released their acclaimed debut The Static That Carries Over on House of Wonders Records. The EP, hailed as an "electrifying six-song sprint" (Kaelen Bell, The Manitoban), was named one of the best of the year by Exclaim! and propelled the band from the basement into bars and festival stages.

Now in their early 20s, Julien's Daughter returns with an infectious single, Rockefeller, to mark the start of a new era.

"It's a song about how exhausting the breakup process can be. I wrote this song at a time when a lot of people were making different narratives about me and I was just trying to focus on healing," says lead singer Emma Murphy. "It's about going through private matters in the public eye.”

The band's new single represents a tremendous growth, says House of Wonders label head Adam Fuhr.

"This band puts on one of the best live shows around, and I'm so excited by how this song pushes their sound forward," says Fuhr, who also produced the single. "I'm so proud to have this band on the roster."
