Alexander Coffin-Lennear (July 3-0), once known as "Ice" of the popular, Bay Area based, hip-hop groups: 4-Deep and The A'z, is back on the scene with his new single, "I Don't Mind".
After 4-Deep parted with a member in 2005, the remaining three members- all named Alex- became a group known as “The A’z”. The A'z were best known for their hit-song, “Yadadamean” during the Bay Area’s “Hyphy Movement”. However, local politics with disc jockeys, poor upper management at TVT records, and mental health issues within the group, kept the A'z from reaching their full potential.
Once the group parted ways, Coffin-Lennear abandoned the name ICE and began using his birthday, “July 3-0” as his stage name. July ventured into his solo career in 2008 and started from scratch. He has spent the past decade on a musical journey by cultivating his unique “soul-pop” sound from a hip-hop foundation. Since releasing his first experimental EP, "Passing With Flying Colors", July is patiently crafting a collection of colorful, feel good, universally appealing records for the "Peace, Pearl & Palm Trees" LP due out before the end of 2018.
