Jun Blazin was born Ricardo Rodriguez in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn, NY on April 30, 1992. His mother, Diana, was of Puerto Rican descent. His father, whom he never had a relationship with, is of Dominican descent.
Rodriguez released his first Latin singles “Indiana” and “Hookah” on the latter end of 2020. Though the records did not meet his expectations of success, Rodriguez refused to give up.
In February 2021, Rodriguez released his hit single “Casi Casi”, which quickly became an overnight hit, as social media responded with high praise. Whether it were on Instagram stories, Tik Tok videos, or parties, Casi Casi played everywhere music did. The music video has surpassed 65,000 views since its March 31, 2021 release.
Rodriguez continued to release singles such as “Aventura”, and collaborated with other local talent to raise awareness on the amazing talent his hometown of Bushwick had to offer.
While 2021 was his breakout year, 2022 was arguably his busiest. Rodriguez released a song and video called “La Chula”, a love song aimed to raise awareness on domestic violence, and an ode to his hometown called “Bushwick Freestyle” not long after. But it was on October 2022 when he released his highly anticipated debut EP “The Last King”, which features hits such as “Los Tres”, “Salistes Afuera” and a collaboration with fellow Bushwick artist Lunaa Maria, titled “Me Gusta”.
We await to see what progress Jun Blazin makes next.
