The sound that has been produced by young pacific island music prospect Junior Soqeta could not have arrived into the music scene at a better time. As the next generation of music takes its place at the helm of music history, the influence of a diverse soul and taste in music has been needed more than ever to remind us of the importance of relating to ones creative identity and origin.
Born of Fijian-Samoan descent and raised in the central-western suburb of Avondale, Junior grew up between two musical worlds; one his family’s deep almost-genetic ties to the beautiful harmonies and melodies of his Pacific Island ancestry ; the other from his years studying the very extents of New Zealand Popular Music that broadened his musical horizon and have also given him a sense of pride for his birthplace. His songwriting skills, arrangements & songwriting abilities have given him the opportunity to be better. Junior awaits his next opportunity and will happily seize it as it comes.
