Johan Sterner Bexelius, Guinness world record holder for being the slowest song-writer ever walked on earth, finally completed writing the upcoming debut album for Juniper Valley late 2023, after over ten years in the making. Johan and fellow multi-instrumentalist Isak Eklöv went into Sonika Studio in Stockholm over the course the first half of 2024 to produce "A tad bit late, but anyhow".
The music touches the likes of classic Swedish 90's Indie rock-acts like Kent and Broder Daniel, but with a broader spectrum of instrumentation and song arrangements, sometimes even closing in towards the shoegaze or post-rock-spectrum of sounds. Their first single "Surf" is an upbeat track though, with clear influences of Pixies-esque gitarr licks. Continuing with songs like "The Tiger" or "Christmas in Alabama", you can clearly hear how Johan's ears also has been pounding Dinosaur Jr and Hüsker Dü over the years for that catchy, yet more aggressive punk-ish space.
Joined by guitarist Albin Schurmann, the Stockholm band is currently a trio looking to expand further going into future gigs.
