Born on July 17, 2007 in Tucson, Arizona, Junkie bounced around between Tucson, Santa Cruz, and Flagstaff, Arizona in his childhood. Junkie began making music in 2020, but he started taking it seriously in 2022 with his friend and collaborator <a href="spotify:artist:3anxJWn4BZkd9DUa5Qxvuu" data-name="Will Umbra">Will Umbra</a> after returning from a mental hospital. His first song, <a href="spotify:track:3grujAJu4eb78PqO7poJiO" data-name="Reflect">Reflect</a>, was released on July 16, 2023. He quickly followed it up by featuring on Will Umbra's song, Pick Me Up, and with his own song Darling.
