Junko Sakimura is a Japanese Marimba and Cimbalom player. After graduating Kunitachi College of Music, Tokyo (percussion), starting from the first recital in 1990, she has given the Japan premiere for pieces like Stravinsky's “Renard (Japanese version)”, Kurtag's "Grabstein Stephan" and "concertante", Costello's "Il Songo", etc. On orchestra, she has been playing with such Maestros like Seiji Ozawa, and Charles Dutoit and played with most major orchestras in Japan. Her performance of Henri Dutilleux’s “Mystère de l'instant” with Saito Kinen Orchestra conducted by Maestro Seiji Ozawa was broadcast multiple times all over Japan by the NHK (National Broadcasting Corporation) TV. Both of her Youtube movie of Monti's Csardas and Hary Janos was viewed over 180,000 times.
