Contemporary R&B singer and rapper Just Chase is a native Nova Scotian who counts fellow Canadian <a href="spotify:artist:3TVXtAsR1Inumwj472S9r4">Drake</a> among his primary inspirations. Like <a href="spotify:artist:3TVXtAsR1Inumwj472S9r4">Drake</a> and many of his <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22OVO+Sound%22">OVO Sound</a> associates, Chase favors understated melodicism over relaxed, atmospheric productions. He made his debut in 2017, a few years following a westward move to Toronto, on his <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22SOS%22">SOS</a> ("save our soul") label. The singles "Ego" and "Between Us" led to the succinct mixtape Killing Roses later that year, an eight-track release of all-new material issued that November, on his late mother's birthday.
