It’s been a stratospheric rise for talented producer Justus, by any measure. At 14, Justus threw himself into electronic music with 100% determination. In 2019 he signed a publishing deal with Cloud9, leading to a run of releases on Spinnin’ Records. By 2022, Spinnin’ had officially signed him to their roster, as had David Lewis Productions. Armin van Buuren called on Justus to open at his 2022 Ushuaïa residency and close out his Dubai NYE spectacular in Dubai. His 2022 Spinnin’ release ‘Speed’ saw major North American support from Kaskade, Zedd, and Deadmau5, Deadmau5 signing Justus to Mau5trap for an EP release, Kaskade co-producing seismic banger ‘Dance With Me’.
2023 tour dates established Justus as a major player, with shows at Ziggo Dome’s main arena for DLDK (fulfilling his promise, he made at 14, to play the same stage as Afrojack less than a decade ago), Balaton Sound, Saga Festival, Dreambeach, Ushuaïa, Creamfields and Tomorrowland. It was at Tomorrowland that Gordo dropped Justus’ remix of Benny Benassi’s ‘Satisfaction’, going viral with over 350 million views. Justus closed out 2023 with two huge moves: the release of ‘Make It Count’ with Armin van Buuren and on Sony Music, a newer high-tempo, pop-influenced sound on single ‘Years’.
As Justus continues to grow, evolve, and increasingly influence the electronic musical landscape, the spark that came to life almost a decade ago is on course to become one of the brightest of his generation.
