John Vergel Siscon, known endearingly as JV, discovered his love for music early on—but it was a spontaneous jam session in Grade 12 that revealed his powerful vocal presence.

From school stages to community events, JV’s confidence soared. A major turning point came when he won a Barangay singing contest, which led to a stint as lead vocalist for a top showband in Zamboanga City.

A heartbreak later awakened his gift for songwriting, allowing him to channel raw emotion into music that resonates with honesty and soul.

His national spotlight came as a finalist on It’s Showtime’s Tawag ng Tanghalan, introducing him to a wider audience and marking a key milestone in his career.

JV is now carving a bold path in OPM, mentored by the brains behind the viral Chavacano hit “Porque.”

Inspired by this legacy, JV blends Chavacano—a rare Spanish-based creole language in his songs - infusing his music with modern P-Pop, Latino flair and emotional depth.

With a distinct sound, rich cultural roots, and undeniable charisma, JV is poised to break boundaries—both locally and globally—as one of OPM’s most promising new voices.
