When founding Runaway Roses ENT in 2017, Johar Snella, known as Jxhar, decided that a record label wasn’t enough, and elected instead to create an artist collective that would house musicians, photographers, visual artists, and clothing designers. Jxhar doesn’t just sing, rap, and produce. He creates, and his ambition and versatility are evident not only in his music, but in the way he lives his life.

Born in Maryland and raised in Harlem, Jxhar cites a diverse set of influences, including Kanye West, Gwen Stefani, Andre 3000, and Kid Cudi. He’s evolved considerably as an artist since purchasing his first piece of equipment at sixteen years old, but the sonic aspects of his music have always come together to create a product that people relate to. No matter what instrumentation surrounds him, Jxhar’s bright vocals and memorable lyrics always cut through, and they’re especially complimented by haunting chord progressions, bright melodies, and an aura that can be as warm as it is spectral.

With ten singles, three albums, eight music videos, two clothing collections, and a rapidly growing fanbase, Jxhar is a star on the rise. But the fact of the matter is that Jxhar isn’t here to impress you, or anyone else. He’s here to create.
