Jymmy Kafka is a spliff-driven, self-deprecating optimist, who uses his most common experiences and magnetic flow to intentionally broach deeper sets of dialogue. Jymmy chooses not to be defined by the neighborhood in which he was raised, yet often circles back to it to question its effects on his sharp and foreboding, yet even keel self-aware perception of the world.
The Massachusetts-born artist also navigates the world as a skateboarder. He offers a well of references, of which skateboarding is present along with racial identity, and obscure literature and film. These references are embedded in the relatable quips and non sequiturs he aims to free from his subconscious via conversational yet astute lyrics.
His projects Quality of Life, and Lil’ Nothin’ have gained him some notoriety in the Boston music scene and acclaim from The Boston Globe, local blogs and WBUR selecting Lil Nothin’ as one of their favorite Massachusetts albums of 2020.
