Fusing ACG ("Anime, Comics, and Games") songs with a modern spin, Hong Kong-based Kabaaneko blends elements of J-pop, J-rock, Pop Punk and Metalcore with dynamic Japanese and English rock vocals. Fronted by singer-songwriter KASA, the quartet is rounded out by guitarist, The Founder Ymichael, and YouTubers bassist Rufus Mann and drummer Pat.
What started off as an anisong cover project between Ymichael, Rufus Mann and Pat, quickly evolved into a full-fledged band with the addition of KASA. Kabaaneko's performance at the HK Wine & Dine Festival garnered much praise, inspiring the band to start creating original anime-inspired music alongside their covers.
