Kabir Sen (aka “MC Kabir”) is a Boston-based recording and performing artist, a music teacher and a hip hop educator. Originally from London, his music brews a robust blend of hip hop, soul, reggae, funk and world music. His fifth album, "Olympic Gold", featured some of independent hip hop’s most well respected emcees - Edo. G, Lyrics Born, Gift of Gab from Blackalicious, Akrobatik and Mr. Lif. His sixth album, “No More Excuses” (released under his full name), was a love/soul project that featured a number of ballads, as well as several Beatles-inspired songs. Over the last two years, Kabir has shared stages with Talib Kweli, KRS-ONE, Coolio, Slick Rick, Czarface (Inspectah Deck, 7L & Esoteric) and many more. Kabir was featured in a Smithsonian exhibit called “Beyond Bollywood” at the National Museum for Natural History. His music has been featured in the New Yorker, The Herald Tribune, The Boston Globe, The New York Times, Billboard, SPIN, VIBE, “The World” (NPR) among others. He performs with “The Krush Faktory” on the first Saturday of every month at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge as well as every Thursday at Bull McCabes pub in Somerville, MA. Kabir’s wide range of professional experiences as a performer, music teacher and recording artist have enabled his musical work to take on a variety of different shapes: interactive performances, recording projects for any number of purposes, and hip hop education workshops/lectures at schools. kabirmakesmusic@gmail.com
