Kae Sun is the project of Ghanaian-born, Montreal-based singer-songwriter, artist and writer, Kwaku Darko-Mensah Jnr.

Under this handle, he creates lush soundscapes rendering them into hypnotic and evocative musical ideas.

Standouts include Afriyie, released in 2013, containing the breakthrough single, “Ship and the Globe.” Exclaim Magazine described the follow-up, Whoever Comes Knocking (2018), as the artist “reaching a new plateau.”

Beginning with his project Oceans Apart (2015), Kae Sun has produced collaborative works in short film and installation art, with the piece above being featured in the travelling exhibition Future Africa Visions in Time (2015-2019)
His latest effort, Midnight And Other Endings (2021) continues along these genre-bending and inquiring lines. Conceived, recorded and filmed between Montréal and Namibia, the Short Film/EP combo offers atmospheric and visually captivating musings on desire and belonging.
