Striking, creative, and powerfully emotive, Kai’s music is fiercely independent. A potent mix of good old-fashioned folk, lo-fi psychedelia and flamenco, Kai Swarvett’s music leaves the listener thinking someone might have spiked the sangria.
Since first picking up a guitar in his early teens, Kai has been a prolific songwriter with a natural instinct for ear-worm melodies and a playful approach to music characterised by his eccentric vocal style and darkly humorous lyrics.
The folk circles and open mic nights of Kai’s hometown in the Derbyshire countryside informed his love of music and led him to study songwriting in Brighton. Here Kai honed his craft and became adept in creating rigorously constructed pop songs that lost none of his unique personality. After graduating, Kai relocated to Spain to teach music in schools. His new home further influenced and diversified his sound with splashes of Spanish classical guitar and Flamenco.
