KAIRO is a Nigerian-born, Houston-raised, LA-based duo comprised of identical twin brothers, AK and EJ.
Following the release of their first two EPs '<a href="spotify:album:1i0V76TeMcJdy8G5jcMjkI" data-name="Love Letters From Houston">Love Letters From Houston</a>' and '<a href="spotify:album:3jOzdF8WPsqwUp9OznStfw" data-name="Return To Sender">Return To Sender</a>' in 2022, KAIRO partnered with Def Jam to release their debut album '<a href="spotify:album:5mYyAO9qTJbSXP5cRMESFr" data-name="ARE WE THERE YET?">ARE WE THERE YET?</a>, which was released on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
As young black men and immigrants, KAIRO is aware of their unique position in the Alternative Pop space. They want to represent expansion: from genre to borders to boundaries. “We haven’t seen kids that look like us in this alt/pop scene. It’s time.”
