Kaitlyn Barbee

Born in Detroit, Michigan in June of 1994, Kaitlyn Barbee came into a family who was ready to support whatever crazy dream she came with. She grew up in the church, singing next to her Grandmother in the choir, and then gradually took on roles in the Christmas pageants. When Kaitlyn was 10, her family moved down to Oviedo, Florida to try something new. This is when Kaitlyn began taking voice lessons and truly honing in on her craft. Kaitlyn says she remembers a day clearly, when she had to make a choice on choosing to follow her passion. “I remember my mom saying to me; you can either continue dance classes, or you can begin voice lessons.” It was clear to Kaitlyn that all she wanted to do was sing.

Since graduating college in 2016, Kaitlyn took the move to Nashville, Tennessee, and began playing music in the classic bars of Broadway, as well as releasing two singles in this time. She’s also opened up for national acts A Thousand Horses and Runaway June. Her most proud work though is soon to come with her new EP “Bold” soon underway. “I have never been more excited & scared at the same time to release something,” says Barbee. “My hope is that people who know me, and those who don’t, will truly relate and understand each song, and know my whole heart was put into it”. Kaitlyn Barbee is just getting started.
