Kalu isn’t just on a path to the limelight, he’s on a path to making a difference.
The 23 year old Fort Lauderdale based Alternative hip-hop artist’s soul-baring music is already connecting with listeners, and with a “never quit” drive, he’s ready to put in the work to reach the entire world.
“I want to die with zero regrets,” he says, “I don’t want to be like, ‘I had a dream of this, but I didn’t do it.’ I want to have memories. Memories of everything I did, of all the people I loved, all the people I took care of.”
“It took three years of writing until I finally realized that music should have all your soul, and therapy in it.”
Listeners didn’t just love Kalu’s music, they related to it. The line between fan and friend began to blur. Kalu was having people add him on Snapchat for his music, but the conversations would move to thoughts on life.
“I talk more about the universe, and energy, and like whatever you put in this world you get back,” he says, adding, “I want to teach people to be able to see the world for what it is, and see that you only have one life, and whatever you’re thinking about, go do it.”
One thing’s for sure, he’s absolutely ready to do whatever it takes to be heard.
“I will never quit on my dream,” he states. “I’m doing it for me, and others. I’m doing it for me because I live once, I want to enjoy my life, and I’m doing it for others because I want to help the people around me, show them through my example, and care for them,
