Kancho Club are a North Eastern duo of producers, multi-instrumentalists, record label owners and DJs that create a blend of House and Techno with world music influences.
Their performances mix the art of djing with their expertise in latin percussion and saxophone to create a truly unique experience through the union of live and electronic.
Comprised of close friends and intrinsically linked musicians Ben Fitzgerald and Thomas Dixon, who met whilst Ben was at university studying percussion and Afro-Cuban culture under the highly respected percussionist, musical director and teacher, Hammadi Valdes, and Tom was studying Jazz at the prolific Sage Gateshead, Kancho Club’s love for traditional Latin and African music shines through both the studio output and live performances.
After years of playing locally and internationally in their neo-soul and jazz projects called Portraits and DILUTEY JUICE, Kancho Club incorporate live instrumentation via percussion and saxophone within each of their DJ sets to bring to life their own vision and style of how dance and world music influences should be experienced.
In quick succession, Kancho Club have quickly turned the heads of new fans and the music industry alike with their flair and ability to conjure unique dance-floor-focused productions and captivating live performances. First arriving with their debut single ‘Say It Baby’ in April 2023, Kancho Club seek to explore and unite fans from both world music and electronic genres.
