Kaptein Sabeltann er den slueste og mest fryktede sjørøverkongen på De Syv Hav. Det sies at hans skute har seilt omkring i flere hundre år og spredd skrekk og gru. Folk som er redde kan jo si så mye rart, men det er i hvert fall sikkert at sjøfolk demper stemmen når de snakker om sjørøverkongen. Ingen har så lange ører som Kaptein Sabeltann, sier de og kikker engstelig rundt seg.

Captain Sabertooth is the craftiest and scariest pirate king on the seven seas. Rumor has it that his ship has been sailing for hundreds of years, spreading terror in its wake. When people are frightened they can say lots of strange things, but one thing is for certain: when sailors talk about the Pirate King, their voices are hushed. “Captain Sabertooth can hear everything,” they say, and peek around the corners with fear. The seven seas resound with myths and legends about him. It is said that he can smell gold from miles away. He demands total obedience from his crew on board the Dark Lady. And woe unto anyone who doesn’t follow orders! It’s common knowledge that Captain Sabertooth can be cruel and merciless towards anyone who doesn’t do as he commands.
