Born in St Andrews, Fife, Scotland, Karen Edward has been singing and performing since the age of eleven. She sang with various friends and family in Folk clubs and venues all over Scotland. Moving to the Isle Of Mull proved a turning point in Karen's musical journey when she started singing in Gaelic and won a gold medal at The Mod in Sky in the Folk Band category. For the next nine years Karen would sing locally with other musicians from Mull including a support spot with The Easy Club in Tobermory. Back in Fife after leaving Mull Karen continued to perform with a band called Shindig, a band with an ever changing line up of local musicians. One of the highlights of those years was supporting Dougie Maclean at a gig in St Andrews. Always torn between her love of music and working as a visual artist Karen took a break from music to set up her business called Funky Scottish. In 2010 she released a CD album called 'Seldom True'.
The album 'Seldom True' was recorded in The East Neuk Of Fife, and Edinburgh, Scotland in 2010.
The songs 'Heart and Soul', 'Stronger than One', 'Dark Angel', 'Seldom True' and 'Birdsong' were written by Karen Edward. 'Nobody There' was written by Stephen Harrison. 'Traveling Nowhere', 'Summer Song', 'Runaway Pony' and 'Tomorrow' were written by Karen Edward and Stephen Harrison.
