Karen Marguth

San Francisco Bay Area vocalist Karen Marguth is one of the most acclaimed vocal jazz artists to emerge in the 2000s. She has released five albums as a leader, two of which have been listed in DownBeat’s annual Best of the Year issue, and one which received a rare four-and-a-half stars. France's Jazz Magazine included Karen in their issue of their "101 Essentiel Chanteuses."

Named "one of the finest American jazz vocalists" by Jazz Times back in 2012, she continues to quietly produce albums that receive international acclaim while holding down a day-job as an educator.

Karen's newest album, Until, will feature her interaction with two Fresno, CA groups, along with a 3rd, representing her latest collaborators in the Bay Area. Though presenting three distinct ensembles on an array of material recorded over the last decade, the album is remarkably cohesive and brimming with emotional generosity. Marguth shows an uncanny ability to mine hidden gems that others miss, while creating a warm & creative environment for her bandmates to thrive in.
