KARL JAMES is a singer-songwriter hailing from Dublin, Ireland. Drawing influence from a range of genres from Indie Pop and Classic Rock to Experimental Rock and Folk. KARL JAMES has a warm and nostalgic sound made to fill rooms and venues.


The mixture of a traditional Rock set-up, modern drum beats and poppy melodies have drawn comparisons to Glen Hansard, Ben Howard, Bon Iver and Kings of Leon. The last two years has seen KARL JAMES retreat during ‘Lockdown’ to refine his sound and write new material.


KARL JAMES works closely with producer Orri Mc Brearty (Goodbye Loona / Dark Tropics) to create a truly unique indie sound.


‘LOCKDOWN’ and ‘LOST ONES’ are exciting alternative rock songs with folk influences. The songs touch on the themes of uncertainty, feelings of being lost and searching for yourself in others. The two tracks both open with rhythmic acoustic guitar, steady beats and folky backing vocals.
