Karlixx is a recognised dj/producer from the spanish jungle scene. In 2004, he started to play his first reggae and drum’n’bass sets to audiences. He focused his sets on an innovative mixture of dubwise and neurofunk creating a fresh new style.
Since then he´s continued to delight crowds with sets full of double drops, original mashups and a technique honed through his years of playing and his passion for music.
Over the years Karlixx has released a large number of raggajungle , reggae and electronic sets with thousands of downolads , his famous sets and mixtapes have earned him respect from the music scene. His mixtape “ It’s a Reggae Morning” was selected by industry recognised website ´Reggae. es´webmembers as the best reggae mixtape of the year 2014.
After more than ten years smashing dancefloors in Spain he decided to make the leap into producing music in the studio in a totally self taught way. Releasing his first tunes through the mexican label Low Freq as well as free downloads, and collaborations with friends, artists and new talents.
The essence of his production fuses electronic beats with caribbean influences like dub, dubwise, and dancehall plus hip-hop, with the heavy bass of jungle, tunes range from 140bpm to 175bpm.
Collaborations and fresh vocals feature highly. As he started to collaborate with more renowned and international producers Karlixx and friends created a new label, South Yard.
