having spent his childhood moving to and from the rough Indian slums and various cities within Britain, karmokar is a self-taught singer, songwriter, rapper and producer with a style that reflects both his cultural background and the post-2000s hip-hop he grew up on, sighting KanYe, Travis Scott, XXXTentacion, The Beatles & A. R. Rahman as some of his 'musical mentors'. karmokar has been influenced by sounds his entire life but began using music as a release for the thoughts and emotions creating chaos in his mind at age 15, believing that his art's ultimate purpose is healing, not only himself but also his listeners.
