Kas Caeda

Melding lush guitars and electronics with moody acoustic songwriting, Australia's Ben Munro -- who records under the name Kas Caeda -- began writing his debut album while living life as an environmental scientist in Sydney in 2022. Originally a native of the city of Melbourne, Munro relocated to Sydney for school while later immersing himself in performing, writing and recording in Sydney bands. Moving from his early grunge roots to an electro-organic rock sound recalling Thom Yorke and Angie McMahon his music career began to show promise. On the basis of his energetic debut single "Greenwood River" and a unique reframing of Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing in the dark," he began collaborating to find his walls as an independent artist. A true collaborator, a full length album has been written with Sergio di Martino between Sydney and Buenos Aires, Argentina and co-produced with Jason De Wilde in the Blue Mountains, Katoomba, New South Wales.

The release of “Greenwood River” saw it become a finalist in the 2023 Listen Up Australia Song Contest. The song is dedicated to a late band mate in remembrance of their live performances together supporting the likes of Des’ree and You Am I in the pubs of Sydney.

In support of his upcoming debut album, Munro has begun forming a band from live sessions with a plan to play debut shows in Australia.
