Originating in the forest dwelling doof scene of Northern New South Wales, Käse Kochen has ripened into an impressive Australian artist. A family artist of Australia’s Stone Seed (formerly Bassic Records), Käse Kochen has made his mark as one of the pioneering artists of the country’s unique “bush techno” sound and furthermore, of the global progressive techno movement.
Between his Käse Kochen alias and birth-name project Harrison Downes, he determinedly releases on Stone Seed, Digital Structures, Techgnosis Records and beyond, along the way collaborating with and remixing the likes of Maksim Dark, Jossie Telch, Electrypnose, Luis M, Carbon and scores of Australia’s most talented.
Käse Kochen’s full length album “Encounters In Melancholy” originally embodied the concept and immense journey of the project. EIM was revisited with a stunning 2020 remix album "Re-Encounters In Melancholy", leaving his audience eagerly awaiting the final chapter in the trilogy "Encounters In Melancholy Part III" featuring Yuli Fershtat, K.A.L.I.L, The Riddler and Ben Coda, to name a few... further intertwining Harrison Downes and his Käse Kochen project with the leaders of the psychedelic techno scene.
