Drawing influence from jazz, soul and pop music, the Montréal based singer-songwriter Kashka Matoga seeks to blend these genres together to create music which connects with people on a deep emotional level. Willing to be raw, open and vulnerable with her own experiences, her lyrics reflect deeply personal events and emotions which transcend those experiences to relate to people. Her sound and songwriting is influenced by artists such as @JohnMayer, @AlecBenjamin and @KamasiWashington. Kashka’s sound focuses on simple chord progressions which elicit emotional responses from the audience, whether listeners are content in life or going through particularly difficult times. One of her greatest joys is performing, something anyone who has attended her shows can attest to. Reading the vibe of the room, she connects with the audience where they’re at.
