Kasuf and the Mazz Muvement is the brainchild-creation of the one-man band, Kerwin Young. Another derivation is Kasufhetep and His Nile Valley Mystics. Kerwin Young (he/him/his) is a concert & media composer, multi-instrumentalist, and an award-winning, multi-platinum, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame recording producer. He is also an educator, and a Hip-Hop Cultural Ambassador. His career and musical output are unbound by genre. He is a pioneer, having transversed from Hip-Hop to Western classical music.
A member of Public Enemy's infamous production team, "The Bomb Squad", Kerwin produced several of the group's albums and solo projects. He has produced and collaborated with iconic artists as Ice Cube, Rakim, Mobb Deep, the 2 Live Crew, George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, Roy Haynes, Bobby Brown, Tevin Campbell, and Janet Jackson; producing songs for posthumous albums by Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix.
