Kathryn Jeanette is a formally trained musician with a flair for the creative. Her love for jazz evolved into an eclectic mix of influences, from Sarah Vaughan to Jeff Buckley and Matt Corby. Choirs, jazz band, marching band, and becoming a Washington State All State Jazz Pianist in 2010 laid a strong musical foundation, leading her to open mic nights, experimentation with mixers, guitars, and drum machines and eventually to writing her own songs.

Her songwriting journey is rooted in self-discernment. Kathryn realized that creating music doesn’t have to be perfect. “It’s not about finding your perfect sound, it’s about sitting down and just doing it! Whatever follows is magic."

On her debut album Black Window, Kathryn’s original and unique voice floats above the notes, sometimes longing for something just out of reach, other times full and powerful, filling the sound with robust confidence. The album is a celebration of embracing ‘self’—past, present, and future.

Her newest songs confront unrealized potential, opportunities she wasn’t ready for, and the setbacks that followed, capturing desire, loss, and self-reflection with honesty and grace.
