Katmaz is the singer/songwriter project of Matthew Kaz, a multi-instrumentalist and producer. Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, Katmaz's journey from the snowy streets of Buffalo to the vibrant music scene of Los Angeles is a testament to his artistic evolution.
Amid the gloomy summer of 2020, Katmaz embarked on an inspiring adventure. Leaving his home in Brooklyn, NY, he traveled across the United States in a van. Along the way, he recorded demos that captured the essence of his experiences. This remarkable expedition spanned three months and covered a breathtaking 20 National Parks.
The culmination of this extraordinary journey was the creation of his debut LP, "Tell Me How Great You Are." During this transformative period, Katmaz decided to move to Los Angeles, where he reunited with his best friend from high school to open NNL Studios.
