KATORZI

Guille KATORZI is a Brazilian musician, producer and DJ, based in Bogotá, Colombia.
He started his career playing bass in an award-winning indie band in São Paulo in the early 2000s which then led to almost two decades of rich and varied projects. After a few years in the UK and the Philippines, Guille established himself in Bogotá in 2018, feeding a desire to connect deeper with Latin and electronic music. With a renewed interest in music production and DJing, he created KATORZI in order to explore funk & disco music as an artist/producer/DJ.

Katorzi has released on the labels PuzzleProjectsMusic (UK/Norway) and SuperSpicy Records (Mexico) receiving great support from radios and DJs worldwide, with the popular tracks ‘Skidum’ and ‘Take The Heat’ - offering fresh nu-disco cuts infused with afro-latin percussion and his trademark funky guitars. In early 2022, he released a collaboration with award-winning UK blues singer Katie Bradley; and remixes for Hotmood and Sunnersoul. In late 2022, he released his first fully original EP titled ‘The Funk Is Real’, showcasing his multi-instrumental talent on the guitar, bass, synths, drum programming and vocals. ‘The Funk Is Real’ received great support worldwide from opinion-maker DJs and magazines.

Katorzi’s latest release (September 2024) is an afro-disco remix for Colombian trio Acido Pantera in collaboration with big band powerhouse La 33.
