Kayos K was influenced by a lot of the early Hip-Hop and Afro beat music he was exposed to coming up. Between growing up in Lagos and living in New York City, New Jersey and being based in Houston for several years, he has been fortunate to share the stage and collaborate with many of the music legends from these cities and more. His style is a blend of the classic east coast boom bap, southern screw and afrobeat soul with a unique west coast element. Transitioning from selling tickets at Time Square to selling his own music and attending popular open mics in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Houston. His style is bold and unorthodox, he is very versatile and easily adapts to various musical situations including the current state of Rap for which he developed a unique style he refers to as "Trill Boom Bap". He credits writing songs/lyrics and listening to much music for getting him through a lot of hard times he experienced losing his close friends including the legendary Big Hawk of the Screwed Up Click to Gun violence. As a youth, after getting expelled from High school, being jailed and even narrowly escaping death several times on the streets, he claims his thoughts settled on the idea of success and the love for Hip-Hop took priority.
