Guitarist / Composer
Kazuma Fujimoto formed the duo orange pekoe in 1998 with vocalist Tomoko Nagashima. After debuting with a mini-album in 2001, the group received numerous music awards for their 2002 album “Organic Plastic Music”.
Since 2011, he has focused on his solo career, developing a body of work centered on melodic composition and poetic guitar expression. His quiet, contemplative instrumental works include the albums “SUN DANCE”, “Dialogues”, “My Native Land”, and “FLOW”.
His activities span a wide range of fields, including collaborations with artists in Japan and abroad, songwriting and music production, live performance and recording, music for films and visual works, and theatre productions.
His latest release is “Unfolding in Time” (November 2025), a duo album with pianist Masaki Hayashi. He also composed the music for the documentary film “particle dance” by architect Kengo Kuma, scheduled for general release from 2026 onward.
Other notable recent collaborative works include “Hoshi wo Kogumono” (2021), released under the jazz group name Remboato; “Garden of the Night” (2022) with vocalist Miyuki Hatakeyama; “Beginning of a Breeze” (2023), a duo album with pianist Shikou Ito; and “Tides of Blue” (2025), recorded as a trio with pianist Sumire Kuribayashi and bassist Takashi Sugawa. In addition, he has appeared as a guest on numerous projects, including works led by composer and pianist Nobuyuki Nakajima.
