Raised by a single grandmother with his two siblings . After his mother and father were deported back to the Dominican Republic in the late 80s, Mak and his little brother and sister were adopted by their maternal grandmother. Life wasn't easy for a young Mak. He struggled with social life at first because he wasn't the best kept kid and always excelled academically. But on the other hand, he was a very violent child. Having no true father figure altered the way the boy became a man.After serving a 18 month incarceration at the young age of 15, his grandmother believed it was time to be with his mother in the DR. Only to discover that this made things worse. Joseph, Mak's cousin, was more like a brother than anything else. The two were inseparable, and while Joe looked up to Mak as a kid, he overpassed Mak on a street level, which led to his assassination. A tragedy that made Mak fall back in the streetlife . But in the end, Mak was sent off to prison. In 2016, Mak realized he had the lyrical skill in Spanish as well as English. He recorded one song and got a reaction he didn't expect. The people who heard the song loved it and passed it along to others, and AltoVoltage was born.
