Bahamian based singer, songwriter and visual artist Keeya is set to return with her new single ‘I Got You’. Out 25th Sept, the track also marks the release of her debut EP entitled ‘Paradise’ which is due to drop 23rd Oct.
‘I Got You’ is the first track to be taken from said EP and is the most personal jam from the project. Described by Keeya as “a love letter to myself”, she layers experiences that she and the people close to her have had, creating somewhat of an ode to her family, friends and community. In it she shouts out to her fandem, proclaiming ‘I Got you!’ Explaining further, she says: “It’s about striving. It’s about how we take care of each other. If nobody else got us, we got us.”

Teaming up with producer Maestro The Baker (credits include Rihanna, Jay1, J Hus and Tiggs Da Author), the pair have delivered a sweet RnB track which drips with sun-drenched positivity. The wavy sample-based production boasts crispy 808s and enough bottom end to satisfy all lovers of rap and other bass genres. Speaking of the recording process Keeya says: “I recorded my vocals in my tiny bathroom at home during lockdown. It was crazy and stressful and not something I was used to! Maestro came through and just took everything to the next level. He killed it.”
