Kelly and Kyle began on a first date in Kyle’s basement, playing covers of Goo Goo Dolls and other 90’s hits. They discovered their love for music, growing together in love and harmony that eventually lead to their wedding on July 12, 2014. Officially united before men and God, they started writing and sharing songs of love, heartbreak, faith, and pain. Their instrumentation is simple: two voices and a guitar. But through rich harmonies and honest lyrics, they get their message across. Shortly after marriage, they moved together to Mexico City to teach. In Mexico, they found their style, an acoustic-based, harmony-rich sound featuring a single acoustic guitar. Kelly and Kyle were also a part of Somewhere South of Midwest, a group featuring Rob McCabe on drums/vocals. With SSOMW, they recorded a five-track EP, as well as played around Mexico City’s taprooms and teashops. Shortly after Rob left for the States, Kelly and Kyle returned to being a duo, where they now perform around Mexico City’s coffee houses, teashops, and open mics. Located in Des Moines, they are now playing around the central Iowa area. Their latest release, How Great Thou Art, is now streaming!
