Kelsey Dower is a symphonic metal composer whose music merges orchestral grandeur with metal’s intensity, creating cinematic, emotionally charged soundscapes. A lifelong musician, she began piano at 18 months and has performed at venues including Carnegie Hall. Her debut single, “Ma’afa,” blends African rhythmic identity with experimental textures, earning international recognition. With her upcoming album Rebirth, Kelsey channels personal and collective trauma into transformative, cathartic compositions. An autistic woman of color, she draws on her experiences to shape music that explores identity, resilience, and emotional honesty without centering her biography. Influenced by Nightwish, Epica, Evanescence, and Nobuo Uematsu, she composes, arranges, and produces her work in full. Beyond music, Kelsey advocates for neurodivergent and underrepresented artists through the NAACP, Autism in Entertainment, and Jazz Hands for Autism, while also pursuing advanced studies in music supervision and training in martial arts.
