Kemastry

Wielding a timeless command over the English language, few have explored the fringes of human consciousness and lived to write about it quite so eloquently as Kemastry.

A member of pioneering Brighton-based hip hop outfit Team Dreebs (Yogocop Records), as well as the esoteric VooDoo Collective, Kemastry linked up with Wundrop and Vitamin G to form the deludamol-guzzling trio CMPND in late 2017. The group soon signed to High Focus ahead of their debut release ‘Eagle Court’ and have since cemented themselves as apex predators in their native ecosystem.

An after-hours shaman and full-time knowledge-seeker, Kemastry deals in the sort of truths that escape the grasp of everyday language. Speaking at youth groups and protests across the country, his words extend far beyond music, from the BLM marches in 2020 to demonstrations against police brutality in the wake of Chris Kaba’s murder in 2022.
