Kemist

Born into a mixture of musical influence and street affiliation, Kemist seemed destined to lead one of the two lifestyles. Unfortunate events during his formative years coupled with fatherhood at a young age not only steered him away from negative paths, but also inspired the desire to create music in the memory of those loved and lost.

Possibly the most appropriately named producer in the game, Kemist beats are more often compared to science projects than conventional instrumentals. Unrivaled complexity and selectivity are key components of what make up his style and an unabated dedication to quality is the basis behind his entire approach to music.

Forever a student of music, Kemist began playing drums and piano in elementary school and joined his first organized music group in 7th grade. It wasn't long after that ventures into Hip-Hop production ensued. By the age of 14, he was producing beats for area artists out of the legendary Denver Hip-Hop shop, "The Spot".

In the late 90's, Kemist's perpetual dream to create his own music became a reality when schoolmates and eventual life-long friends gained interest and "Illfuzionz" was born, the predecessor to the current crew. In 2008, Kemist became a founding member of and Head of Production for 8th ElemEnt., which would later become one of the area's leading indie labels. He has since worked with countless artists and his production has been featured on Billboard's Regional Heat Seekers as well as various media outlets.
