Marcus “Kentrell” Brown is an American singer, songwriter and producer.
Raised in Utica, Mississippi, he started singing gospel at the age of 9. He then moved to Chicago at the age of 18 to pursue his musical aspirations. After signing to Jive Records in 2008, Kentrell released his debut single “Encore". Produced by Malay (Frank Ocean) and Kawan KP Prather (TLC, OUTKAST and Usher), "Encore" debuted at #39 on Billboard's Top 100.
After Jive's dissolution in 2011, Kentrell went independent and released his first single "Mary Jane" feat G Herbo. He would go on to release his first EP “Catch Me If You Can” followed by his single "In The Middle" produced by DJ Terry Hunter (Jennifer Hudson and Raheem Devaughn). From there Kentrell would go on to release his R&B inspirational single "Once Upon A Time" in 2020.
Now Kentrell has a new focus, new energy and new music in the works for 2021, leading with his singles “All In" and "Seven Days." Kentrell incorporates R&B/Pop/Soul into his music. His musical influences are Marvin Gaye, Prince and Michael Jackson.
